The East of Eden Bed & Breakfast is located on the upper floor of the hisotric McDougall Building in the heart of quaint downtown Salinas. The rooms were originally used as a railroad hotel, and have been restored in early twentieth century period theme. A three minute walk to the National Steinbeck Center Museum and just five minutes to John Steinbeck's birthplace and boyhood home.
The rooms are decorated in antique furniture, featuring a working Victrola to allow you to experience a less-complicated time before television and technology. The East of Eden B & B immerse you in a past when Salinas had the highest per-capita income in America due to the green gold of Lettuce and the intersection of Main and Gabilan Streets boasted a bank on every corner.
